Hi, this is Ben from Ben’s Repurposed Cabinetry, and I had a little bit of an epiphany. I’d like to tell you about it and see if any of you are interested in helping us out. Through what we do, recycling kitchens and selling them to people like you and me, we get into contact with a lot of people like you who are building their own homes. We love working with those people. They’re go getters, do-it-yourself, hard working Americans who are doing something that’s a once in a lifetime opportunity for most of us: building their own home. It’s so cool to be able to learn from them and to hear about what they’re doing, and it’s very inspiring. So I wanted everyone involved in this process to share what they are doing with each other. To accomplish this, we’re going to start a YouTube channel where we tell the stories of people who are building their own homes. We would explain to you how to make the content, the pictures and videos of the process. After receiving the pictures and videos from you, we would do all the editing and publish the video. I think we could create a really amazing community of people. The community would be made up of people who want to build their own home, people who are in the middle of the project, and people who have already completed this huge, monumental project. Everyone in this community can learn from each other, bounce ideas off each other, and generally just support each other through the process of building their own homes. I think it would be really inspiring. I was very excited when I came up with the idea, but I’m wondering if you, as someone who is building your own home, would be interested in helping us with that. Would you be interested in participating?

What will you get for participating in this community? At the end of this process, you will have hundreds of pictures and video clips that are uncondensed and unorganized. So at the end of the process, as a thank you, we will take all the footage and all the pictures that you gave us and compile them into a nice well put together video that goes through the whole process and tells the story from start to finish of you building your house. So in addition to all the clips and pictures, you would have a really nice, concise video that you could watch with your family to remember the the hardships and the triumphs of the whole process. I thought it was a cool idea, but I also realize that it’s not for everybody. Some of you may not want other people to see what you’re doing. I understand that. But for those of you who are willing, I think it’s a really cool opportunity, and it would create an awesome community of people who have the same kind of desire to and excitement about doing something as awesome as building your own home.
